Types of Awnings

1. Fixed Awnings: They are usually used to shield the yard, windows and entrance passages of a house. Providing a fixed shelter, they can offer greater protection for your home against rainstorms, hail or snow. They are generally durable and reasonably priced, making them a highly cost-effective choice.

2. Folding Arm Awnings: They are an excellent choice for spaces with limited area. These awnings are retractable, meaning they can be unfolded as needed. An electric control system can also be installed, which allows the awnings to extend automatically on sunny days.

3. Swing Arm Awnings: Also known as rotating arm awnings, they feature rotating arms that extend and retract in an arc motion. With swing arm awnings, you can adjust the angle and length of the awning, allowing you to filter the sunlight for your home exactly as you want. The direction and volume of air flow can also be modified by adjusting the awning.

4. Spring-Loaded Awnings: They typically consist of a top rolling mechanism and fixed supports. These awnings are usually operated simply by pulling them down to the desired height. It is not advisable to use this type of awning if you live in an area prone to frequent storms or strong winds.

5. Drop Arm Awnings: They are another ideal option for semi-enclosed outdoor areas such as balconies or pergolas. Once installed, these areas of your home can be completely enclosed in severe weather, almost like adding an extra room to your house.
